Therapeutic Approach
Hi, I’m Gabbie and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in helping adults heal from childhood trauma. I normalize the behaviors and symptoms that you experience and provide education on how the brain and body responds to trauma. I do this so you can understand your symptoms and move forward in the healing and processing part of therapy. I always ensure that the trauma healing is at your own pace.
I use an integrative approach which means that I will customize my therapeutic techniques to a form of healing that works best for your individual needs. I use a collaborative approach and maintain transparency throughout my work, so you always know what to expect and do not have to feel alone in your healing journey. Everyone has a story, and every story deserves to be respected, understood, and valued. I conduct a thorough intake process that allows me to understand the experiences that shaped your life- your struggles, strengths, goals, and everything in between. With understanding comes compassion and teamwork. I motivate my clients to use the tools they establish during the therapy sessions to reach their full potential.
I emphasize holistic practices and incorporate information and goals related to nutrition and exercise as a form of coping and healing with trauma. Trauma is just as much emotional as it is physical. Nutrition and exercise not only help reduce trauma symptoms in the short term, but they have the power to help re-wire the brain in establishing healing and longevity. I believe in you, and I know you have the power to change your path to one that is more fulfilling, healthy, wholesome, and sustainable.
